Hartlepool Sixth Form College

Parent & Student Info

If you are a parent or carer of a student at Hartlepool Sixth Form College you'll find some useful information below.

Attendance & Holidays

Hartlepool Sixth Form College closely monitors student attendance. Parents or carers must get in touch with the college to notify of a student’s absence and the expected duration of their absence. Senior Tutors, parents or carers may be involved if a student has poor attendance.

Holidays should not be booked during term time to avoid conflict. All students will be given a copy of term dates during enrolment.

Parent and Carer Evenings

Parent and Carer Evenings are held twice a year and are a chance for parents, carers and students to meet with Tutors to discuss student progress or career advice. The Parent and Carer evening is an integral part of performance monitoring, enabling both staff and students to set targets for improvement.

Progression Talks

Progression Talks are held a number of times throughout the year as an opportunity to discuss the next step your son or daughter can take after their college education. Topics covered include moving on to university, gaining employment or any other form of higher education or training. Various presentations are delivered with information on:

  • Finance at University
  • Higher Apprenticeship Opportunities
  • Employment preparation

The format of Progression Talks will vary and where appropriate parents and carers will also be invited to attend.
