Hartlepool Sixth Form College

Senior Management Team

A very warm welcome to Hartlepool Sixth Form College.

Mo Bunter

At Hartlepool Sixth Form College, we recognise that it is a big step moving from school to college, and that what will make this step easier for you is knowing that you have chosen the right college, one which will prepare you carefully and thoroughly for the next big step to university, apprenticeship or to employment.

We believe Hartlepool Sixth Form College is the right college to prepare you for your future.

In joining us at Hartlepool Sixth Form College, you will be joining a college with an excellent academic tradition which dates back to the 1980s. Generations of students have studied here (including, I am sure, some of your parents, brothers and sisters, broader family and friends) and have progressed successfully to university or employment. Our excellent record of academic success was recognised by Ofsted in February, 2016, when they judged the college to be ‘Good with Outstanding Features’. As a student at Hartlepool Sixth Form College, you will be supported and challenged to achieve outstanding academic success. This support will include access to a wide range of qualifications, including GCSE Maths and GCSE English, as appropriate, and to high quality teaching and learning from our passionate, creative and experienced teaching staff. Outstanding academic success is your passport to a bright future after college.

You will also be given access to a wide range of extra-curricular activity, including work experience, to give you a competitive edge in securing this bright future. Admissions tutors at university and employers like well-rounded young people, and we take great pride in ensuring our students are well-rounded young people, ready for work or university. This too was recognised by Ofsted when they visited us in January, 2016 in the ‘Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare’ aspect of their report.

Our talented team of Student Achievement Tutors will ensure you are safe and happy at college, and that you are making outstanding progress. And our fantastic student services team, learning support team, guidance and careers team will provide you with any additional support that you may need to ensure this outstanding progress.

I warmly invite you to visit Hartlepool Sixth Form College on a Year 10 Taster Day or on one of our Open Evenings to meet first hand our staff and our students. This will help you to decide whether Hartlepool Sixth Form College is the right college for you.

If you decide it is, you are in safe hands. We will guide you to outstanding academic success and this will transform your life.

I very much look forward to meeting you.
