Public Consultation on Proposed College Merger
A month-long public consultation has started on the proposed merger of Hartlepool Sixth Form College and City of Sunderland College.
The consultation will run from Monday 27th March until 5pm on Friday 28th April 2017. It is seeking to obtain views on the creation of a dynamic, financially outstanding resilient organisation comprising Hartlepool Sixth Form College, Sunderland Sixth Form and City of Sunderland College, with a strong commitment to local delivery and outstanding education and training for over 14,000 students.
The proposal (subject to due diligence and approval by each Governing Body) will ensure the financial stability of specialist sixth form provision in Hartlepool and will safeguard and protect Hartlepool Sixth Form as the town’s high quality Sixth Form provider at its Brinkburn site.
The proposal is for a type B merger between Hartlepool Sixth Form College and City of Sunderland College; we believe that our proposal will create a high performing College responsive to the needs of students and integrated into the educational and economic needs of the community it serves.
We are keen to hear your views on the proposal.
